We also offer individualised programs of support which can be developed prior to their stay specific to their goals, needs, and interests. We have a team of highly qualified support workers and nurses that provide 24/7 supervision and care on the farms.

A Typical Day at Hamlet Respite Farm

9:00am - Arrive at the Farm

Our friendly team will greet you and introduce you to your support workers for your stay. They will assist with settling you in, showing where your room is, and taking you for a tour.

10:00am – Meet and Greet with the Cattle, Horses, and Bindi the dog.

We will take you around the farm and introduce you to our animals. You will get to know them by name, their quirks, and give them a pat.

10:45am – Morning Tea

Have a snack and enjoy the view of the farm out in our outdoor open shed, or back deck area. Sit back and relax and take in the farm.

11:15am – Veggie Patch Gardening

Get the chance to pick some vegetables and fresh produce from the garden and plant some little seedlings in a pot for you to take home or in one of our veggie patches.

12:30pm – Lunch

Cook up the fresh produce from the veggie patch and enjoy a nutritious meal straight from the garden. We have a few recipes on site our participants can choose from.

1:30pm – Enjoy an Activity of your Choice.

We offer a range of activities that you can choose from on the farm, whether its painting, board games, reading, baking… and so much more. We also offer the opportunity for participants to bring activities they love.

3:00pm – Feed the Animals

Go for a walk around the farm and get the opportunity to feed the animals you met in the morning. Whether its milk feeding the calves, feeding hay to the cows and horses, or giving Bindi the kelpy a treat.

4:00pm - Enjoy an Activity of your Choice.

We offer a range of activities that you can choose from on the farm, whether its painting, board games, reading, baking… and so much more. We also offer the opportunity for participants to bring activities they love.

5:30pm – Start Preparing Dinner

Make a scrumptious meal with more veggies from the garden or a meal of your choice with the supervision and assistance of our support workers. We provide culinary assistance and development of culinary skills. If there are particular meals or cooking you would like to do whilst on the farm, we offer assistance of development of skills.
